We have a full term-time programme and hold a four week Summer School during August plus, various professional workshops during the year.

We have a thriving music department and as well as singing lessons we offer tuition in piano, string and wind instruments with Associated Board of the Royal School of Music exams.

The school’s performance company is ‘Octagon Dance & Musical Theatre Company’. We usually put on several performances during the year. Our main school performance is staged at The Maltings in Ely. Some of our previous productions have included showcases, musical theatre productions such as Alice in Wonderland, full length ballets such as Cinderella, Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, La Boutique Fantasque, Coppelia etc. A member of staff writes the productions especially for the school in order that all the different genres and most of the pupils can be included. We also have a professional company attached to the studios Elysian Dance Company. The Company has been formed by ex-Octagon Studio’s students plus local dancers who have gone on to train professionally. To book a performance or find out more please ask for a leaflet.

During August, as part of our Summer School contemporary dance, ballet and jazz workshop week ‘Dance Divine’ the participating dance students give a lunchtime performance in Ely Cathedral. ‘Dance Divine’ is an annual event on the Cathedral’s calendar.

At Christmas we hold our Christmas Concert with our singers, dancers and musicians who perform a traditional blend of Christmas songs and music helped along by mince pies and mulled wine for parents and friends.
